How to Lose 10 Pounds but Gain a New Lifestyle.

You look at yourself in the mirror-and suddenly you know you need to lose some weight. All that comfort food has left you with an ever expanding waistline and watching all those television shows has made it worse. No exercise and too much food-you need to lose about 10 pounds NOW!!

It’s a sad fact that you can’t lose the pounds as easily as you put them on. Many of the extreme diet programs make you give up all the foods you love like meat and chocolate. Either that or they insist that to lose10 pounds you need jog everywhere and leave your car at home, even if its miles.

Of course if you need to lose those ten pounds in a matter of days some extreme measures may need to be taken but most people will take more time to reach their goal. In this case not only a change in diet is necessary but also a change in lifestyle.  You must inculcate more healthy habits in your daily routine so that a smooth transition can be made into that new lifestyle. Over a period of time the situation should be that you don’t notice the changes in diet or exercise because they have become part of your new life.

Of course all this take effort and willpower and you need to make sure trying to lose those ten pounds doesn’t rule your life. By taking time and getting the diet and exercise that is right for you the incentive will be to keep the weight off forever and will, in turn, give you a satisfying new lifestyle.

Start right now by looking at your day to day activities. For instance, what can you do to get more exercise? Could you walk or cycle with the children to school? That would benefit the family; it would save on fuel bills and lessen pollution. Finding active alternatives to driving is good exercise and will help you lose the 10 pounds forever.

You could increase your exercise routine by walking round the block during your lunch hour and by using the stairs instead of the elevator. After a while you may want to increase your physical activities by joining a sports club of some description or by going for long walks in the woods or countryside. This will do you good and encourage the whole family to become fitter. Find activities that you really enjoy so the exercise turns into entertainment- something you really enjoy doing.

Changing your life to lose 10 pounds doesn't have to be drastic and who knows it could be really enjoyable and give you a completely new and satisfying lifestyle.
